Having worked with - amongst others - Kluster/Cluster, Brian Eno and Harmonia, Dieter Moebius and Asmus Tietchens have been responsible for shaping avant-garde electronic music over the past few decades. Here they finally come together to produce an album of what has come to be referred to as modern musique concrete. Looped tracks of sparse synth and minimal drum machines bang and click without remorse, somehow evoking the skin and bones architecture of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Stand out track ‘Kattrepel’ is a sustained, almost phonemic piece, which snaps along with cold precision. A record of total experimentation, from two guys who have no right to be so fearless and inquisitive after spearheading a genre for longer than I’ve been alive.
